AMT awarded “New Company of the Year”

(Dublin, Friday November 15th 2002) At this year’s annual Irish Software Association (ISA) Awards, AMT received the prestigious “New Company of the Year” Award in recognition of the progress and successes the company has achieved in the technology and aviation industry worldwide.

Since its foundation in 2000, AMT, the Dublin based provider of innovative aircraft operations and maintenance management solutions, continues to expand its operations in the international aviation industry and now boasts an impressive customer portfolio of charter, commercial and cargo airlines, including Atlas Air, Futura International Airways, and DHL. AMT recently launched its comprehensive software platform – Flightman™ at an aviation conference in Singapore attended by major airlines and aircraft manufacturers.

AMT’s flagship product Flightman™ offers secure, wireless management of aircraft technical and operations data using XML technology and portable computing devices.

This electronic version of the familiar bulky flight bags used by airline crew can achieve substantial cost savings and improved operational efficiencies for airlines resulting in savings that average US$100,000 per aircraft annually and greatly improved cockpit safety procedures.

Through its synchronised modules Flightman™ is the complete solution for electronic data capture and management in the field of flight operations and maintenance, covering business processes, technical documentation, fuel and vendor management, onboard sales and flight plates. In short, Flightman™ allows pilots, cabin crew and ground engineers to capture and utilise operational information more efficiently, thereby eliminating the inefficiencies of paper logs.

Flightman™ strengthens an airline’s capacity to satisfy regulatory requirements and improve flight safety and security processes. The latest Flightman™ application is fully scalable and extensible to allow for development and implementation of future requirements.

The Irish Software Association (ISA) is a dynamic association which represents an ever-increasing number of Irish and multi-national software and computing services companies. Upon receiving the ISA award, CEO Bernard Hensey commented:

“The award reflects the huge progress that the team in AMT have made over the last 2½ years. The hard work and innovation that has gone into Flightman™, AMT’s unique patented software platform for process automation onboard aircraft, will secure a long and exciting future for the company. I have to thank our customers, staff, board and investors for their support since inception and I look forward to working together to achieve even greater success in the future”.

The presentation was attended by Charlie McCreevy TD, Minister for Finance and Mary Hanafin TD, Minister for the Information Society. Short listed for New Company of the Year were: AEP Systems, Am Beo, AMT, Cinehub, WS2 and Xiam. The ISA Awards, which are considered as the Oscars of the software industry in Ireland, are sponsored by Brown Rudnick, Enterprise Ireland and Trinity Venture Capital. The Irish Software Association is part of IBEC and a founder member of ICT.
