Conor McCarthy to join the board of AMT

Aircraft Management Technologies (AMT), the Dublin based aviation industry solutions provider, which is developing information system technology to automate and streamline operations within the aviation industry, has today announced the appointment of Mr. Conor McCarthy, to its board.

McCarthy has extensive experience in the airline industry and is founder and director of PlaneConsult.com. Prior to establishing PlaneConsult in 2000, he was Director of Group Operations for Ryanair over a four-year period. Under his direction, Ryanair successfully translated its no frills operations to seven new countries and trebled its fleet and passenger numbers.

McCarthy spent 18 years with Aer Lingus prior to joining Ryanair, where he rose to General Manager Strategic Planning and Marketing. He was also on the board of Galileo International and Chairperson of Galileo Ireland.

Bernard Hensey, Chief Executive, Aircraft Management Technologies commented: “McCarthy, who has over 23 years of experience in the industry, brings a unique combination of skills, experience and knowledge to AMT. The timing of his appointment is ideal as we have just launched our first product eTechlog™ and we continue to work closely with airlines and maintenance organisations on further developments.”

Conor McCarthy commented: “This is a innovative and exciting company established by a management team with considerable aviation experience. The sector, which presents some real opportunities, is relatively unexplored to date and I look forward to joining the board of AMT.”

Conor is an engineering graduate of Trinity College Dublin.
