New York (15th September 2005) – Ireland's Prime Minister, An Taoiseach Bertie Ahern, announced today in New York that the experienced & successful aerospace executive, Tom Corcoran will be joining the board of AMT (Aircraft Management Technologies), the rapidly growing aerospace software company based in Dublin, Ireland. Tom Corcoran was introduced to AMT by EI through its Mentor Programme.
Commenting on the appointment the Taoiseach said "I am delighted to be announcing the appointment of Tom Corcoran to AMT's Board of Directors. Tom has already been instrumental to the company in terms of business development/strategic advice. The initial appointment of Tom Corcoran as a mentor and the subsequent elevation to Director and now as a board member will bring enormous credibility to the company in its business development efforts in the global aerospace market".
Commenting on the appointment, Steffen Harpoth, Chairman of AMT stated that: "Tom brings considerable experience and knowledge to the AMT team at a time when the company is growing strongly and entering new markets. Tom's contacts in the International Aerospace business and his understanding of technology adoption in these areas will be invaluable to the company".

Tom is a Senior Advisor to The Carlyle Group's aerospace and defense sector and assists Carlyle in developing strategy and identifying investments in the aerospace and defense sector based in Washington, DC. Tom served as President & Chief Executive Officer of Gemini Air Cargo where he led a successful business restructuring. Before Gemini, Mr. Corcoran was President and Chief Executive Officer of Allegheny Teledyne Incorporated and prior to that, he was President and Chief Operating Officer of Lockheed Martin's Electronics Sector from 1995 to October 1999. Before the 1995 merger of Lockheed Corporation and Martin Marietta Corporation, he was President of the Electronics Group of Martin Marietta, a position he assumed in 1993 following the sale of GE Aerospace to Martin Marietta. He began his career in 1967 at General Electric Company where he held various senior management positions. He joined GE Aerospace in 1983 and, in 1990, he was elected as corporate officer and rose to the number two position as Vice President and General Manager of GE Aerospace.
Mr. Corcoran was born in Ireland and earned his B.A. in engineering at the Stevens Institute of Technology and is a graduate of the GE Manufacturing Management Program. He also has an honorary Ph.D. from Stevens. Mr. Corcoran is a member of the Board of Directors of Gemini Air Cargo, Inc., L-3 Communications Corporation, REMEC, Inc., Labarge, Inc., United Industrial Corporation and Vought Aircraft Industries, Inc.
