AMT today announced the latest release of their award winning Flightman™ Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) software development platform. Flightman™ Version 3 has some unique patented features that add considerable value to airline users and development partners.

Flightman™ Version 3 includes a communications management module that can manage multiple aircraft communication channels such as satellite based KU band, Swift 64 and ACARS systems together with terrestrial 802.11 WiFi networks, wide area data links, GPRS and 3G. This offers a unique opportunity for an airline to use multiple channels to maximize connectivity to the aircraft and reduce communications costs. The Flightman™ Communications Manager provides full network management capability allowing an airline configure EFB communications policies in real time thereby optimizing the utilization of available channels.

Flightman™ Version 3 also ships with other valuable features such as ARINC 429 interface, smart download, peer to peer web services and fully customizable EFB ground administration capability.

AMT is working with a number of partners to develop solutions on the Flightman™ software development platform. Flightman™ Version 3 builds on the original DO178B conformance of Flightman™ and the level of certification of the solution can be tailored to the market requirements of each partner. AMT is expecting to announce successful partner installations in the near future.
