WSI (Weather Services International) and AMT (Aircraft Management Technologies) today announced their collaboration to deliver a Global Inflight Weather solution for Electronic Flight Bags (EFBs). Building on WSI’s capability and experience with Inflight Weather in the US, WSI will leverage AMT’s expertise in EFB deployment and communications management to port their weather application to AMT’s Flightman™ platform. With text and graphical weather delivered to the aircraft using the most cost-effective data network, airlines can maintain common situational awareness between flight-dispatch and the cockpit. The solution builds on the evolving WSI product range, which incorporates aspects such as decision support tools, weather alerting and high accuracy forecasting to minimise the impact of disruptive weather and support optimal decision making.
